Captive (Lace Underground #1)
Book 1 of the addictive new Lace Underground trilogy.
Heartbreak lead me there.
I had a mission but it didn't take long for my grasp on reality to come loose. As the tethers to my past were torn away I found myself inextricably bound to him, to the twisted monster.
Kane Freestone's secret world was like the ultimate mix of good and evil. They called him the mad genius, and he was just that. I hated him as much as I couldn't live without him. During those months underground, he was the center and soul of my existence, my oxygen.
Only one person could bring me out of the haze—Detective James Maddox.

My Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Detective Angie "Ten" Tennyson shakes up the department when she begs to take on the case for The Lace Underground. A secret club, shrouded in mystery, and connected to a few deaths. There is not much to the case, but Angie wants, needs, this. She needs to distant herself from her partner, Maddox James, the precinct, and her life for awhile. And Angie knows she can bring this club down, and the elusive Kane Freestone, all on her own.
When Angie suddenly finds herself in the clutches of Kane, and in his dark, seductive and secretive world. Angie questions if taking this assignment was her smartest idea. Because going in alone, blind, and having to rely on no one but herself, may have been a huge mistake.
Who's to be trusted at the Lace Underground?
Who's right?
Who's wrong?
Captive is the start of a crazy ride. And you are right there with Angie through it all. Her confusion, her desires, who she can trust, and what she can believe. Whats real, and whats part of the fog she finds herself under.
This series is a lot different from other books I have read by Tess Oliver, and I think readers, old and new, will be in for a nice surprise, and sucked right into this dark, sexy, and intense story.

Obsessed (Lace Underground #2)
Book 2 of the new, scorching hot Lace Underground Trilogy.
She’s my weakness, my poison, my addiction. She will be my downfall, yet I can’t let her go.
I’m ashamed of how easily I succumbed to the madman’s charms. He is the worst and yet the most incredible thing that has ever happened to me. But I miss Detective Tennyson, and I need to bring her back. I need to find a way out. I don’t want to be his captive any longer.

My Review
Detective Angie"Ten" Tennyson is being pulled further in. Into this world, his world. It's becoming her everything. All she knows, wants and desires. Angie slowly finds herself getting more and more lost in the world of Lace Underground, and lost to Kane Freestone.
Angie is losing reality on who she is and dragged deeper into the woman created when going undercover. Her old life is slipping further and further from her mind. Her partner and best friend Maddox, her job, herself.
In between the fog, Angie wonders if she really wants out. Does she want to go back, back to who she was and all she knows? Or has she found her new normal.
Obsessed is just as consuming as Captive. Falling farther into this dark and seductive world is guaranteed. The intensity, the heat, the pain, sadness, all woven into a book that is hard to put down.
Around every corner this book will have you changing your opinion. On situations, on where the story is going to take you, and these passionate, deep and intense characters. Who do I love, who do I hate, who do I want to see more of. You will feel the roller coaster of emotions that Angie faces in this book. And you'll be left just as mixed up as she feels.

Devoted (Lace Underground #3)
The conclusion to the heart-stopping, gut-wrenching Lace Underground trilogy.
She came. She conquered. She destroyed.
How did I lose control so fast?
I knew it was dark and twisted. Only, what I did in Lace Underground didn't feel wrong.
I'm left dealing with something huge and dark and life changing and there is no one who understands. Everything is different now.
The man left a big impression, and he had a terrible secret to hide.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Angie Tennyson has to go through a lot in the final book of this series. She's broken and lost, but at the same time she feels she found a part of herself at the Lace Underground. It may have been unconventional, or seen by others as wrong. But Angie knows how she feels. How she felt. But she's ready to face all that is in her path. To pick up her life and heal, regroup and move forward. She has a lot to work through, to think about and choices to make.
After the way book two ended I could not wait and had to dive into this one just as fast as the first two. The conclusion to this series was great, satisfying but also leaves you craving more at the same time.
Again who do we love? Who do we hate? Is this wrong, or oh so right? My feelings for this story and these characters were all over the place. This really is a series to binge read.
I love how Tess Oliver didn't give us the typical romance. She made it complicated and raw. Sexy and with a dash of sweet. The author made you see things through the eyes of three different characters. To get into their heads and see things in their perspective made these books all the more interesting.
I didn't know who to not like, who I should love, or who I was going to root for. These books make you question things at every chapter.
And that is awesome storytelling.
