Alex Matthis has been working her but off trying to secure a position at one of the best law firms in Chicago. Alex wants to achieve more, have more, than she did growing up. To make something of herself. To feel secure. So she needs no distractions. Being a Lawyer and making a future through all her hard work is her goal.
But distractions are hard to ignore, when one comes in the form of her new, tall and sexy downstairs neighbor. Alex doesn't know whats more distracting, the charming Emerson Hayes with his plaid shirts and tempting smiles or all the noise and banging keeping her her up at all hours of the night, while the construction to "Rascals", Emerson's bar, is going on.
Emerson Hayes is opening a bar with his four best friends, "Rascals". Rascals needs to be a success. Him and his friends have all put in a lot of time, money and sweat into the idea, building, branding and opening of this bar. He has the pressure of his father. Who hates that Emerson is taking his own path and not following his parents social status, or path they want him to.
Emerson is knocked for a loop when he shares a moment with a beautiful, sassy woman. There is something about Alex Mathis that intrigues Emerson. She draws him in. With her strong work ethic and gorgeous smile. When she is in need of a fake date for a work party, Emerson is all to happy to step in.
