Cambria Hebert brings a fresh breath of air to any genre she writes, and with this darker tale, she delivers. I was holding my breath most of this book, clutching my kindle, wanting to devour the chapters as fast as possible, trying to solve the mystery right along side Amnesia.
Everything, from the pacing of the book, to the foggy small town setting, the hauntingly beautiful, scary and sad story, to Eddie and Amnesia, who I loved, and could not get enough of, make for one fantastic story.
Amnesia is a complex character, one that steals your heart, she's lost. There is so much she does not know, so much to fear, and so many reasons to want to hide, but she doesn't. She is strong, resilient and is determined, to face whats ahead of her and hope for more. Eddie, oh man did I love Eddie. He is an amazing male lead. Strong, sweet, sweep you off your feet and protect from the world kind of guy. He knows pain and lost, but still mange's to make others smile. And together, the connection Eddie & Amnesia share, is beautiful, swoon-worthy, and filled with hope.
Fear, love, second chances, and the unknown, all woven together, brings us a thrilling read. This little town of Lake Loch and all the secrets, lies, and mystery, circling in it, make for a book that should not be missed.
