Secrets, struggles, and fate.
Stuart Knight is a haunted, wounded man, a ex Marine, who faces struggles and pain on a daily basis. Tired of it all, he decides to kick his habit, and venture to a remote cabin in Montana on his family's land.
Mariska is a beautiful women, with a gypsy soul, she loves easy and looks for the good in everyone. And when she set eyes on the older Knight brother that day, months ago, she knew they were meant to cross paths. Plagued with haunting dreams, Mariska sets for Montana to help the wounded solider, who captured her heart with one look. Once there Mariska, feels foolish and scared that Stuart will think of her as a nutcase. Following him all this way.
Stuart begins his healing, its extremely hard, but he has his mind set. Get better and get back to the desert that his Marine heart calls for. But when free spirit, Mariska, throws a wrench in that plan, Stuart's heart starts to call for more than that desert.
A beautiful story, of two people who are fated to be together.
Mariska will have to prove to Stuart that her love, and heart are in the right place, and Stuart will have to rid the monsters from his mind and learn to let the love of this special women heal him. Stuart & Mariska have beat out all the others in this series as my favorite couple.
Fate works in mysterious way. And in this story, it brought a damaged man back from the edge, and into the arms of a beautiful soul.

Stuart Knight & Mariska Heron have headed back to Montana, back to the ranch where their love story first started. There helping Stuart's uncle, Stuart feels like he is home, that this is the place he's suppose to be. But he could never ask Mariska to move, leave her friends and school, and live that way. He wants her safe and happy, and he'll do whatever to protect her. Mariska couldn't be more happy, she's has her moody cowboy, her art, and the chance of her own little family. She would be happy anywhere Stuart is, if only she could get him to see that.
When tragedy strikes, both Mariska and Stuart are tested, their faith, their strength and their relationship. They will have to battle their own demons and find the way back to themselves before they can save each other, their relationship and the future they planned.
One To Take was a beautiful, heartbreaking chapter to this couples story. These two are my favorite couple of the series, so I was very excited to know they were getting another book. But I was also nervous, I didn't want anyone messing with my couple. ;) But Tia did an amazing job bringing us another part to Mariska & Stuart's story. While heartbreaking at times, the story stayed true to the characters. You see new sides of them and reconnect with the things that made you love with them in the first place.
Stuart is still the broody, sexy alpha that I could read about all day. You see him loose a lot, close himself off to the ones who love him, and slowly pick up the broken parts. He's not perfect but he owns up to his mistakes and fights for Mariska.
Mariska really pulled at my heart in this book. She deals with so much pain and loss, and starts to who she is. She feels like she doesn't know who that is anymore. It was tough to read how lost she felt, but she has a strength that helps her pull herself out of the dark and believes in herself again.
One To Take is a beautiful love story, filled with lots of sexy, like lots! I could read about this alpha cowboy and his beautiful gypsy again and again.
