Book Review- The Game That Breaks Us by Micalea Smeltzer

Hockey’s bad boy needs to clean up his reputation…

Bennett James has built his career at being the best, on and off the ice, and now it’s come back to bite him. The media has turned against him, and with a near career-ending injury, he needs to clean up his act and prove that he’s serious about the game. For Bennett, working with his old coach at his alma mater feels like a step back, but it might be just what he needs.

…and she’s going to help him do it.

Grace Wentworth has always been the good girl, and she’s tired of that stigma. She wants to prove that she can get down and dirty with the best of them. The problem? She doesn’t know how.

Bennett will teach the good girl how to be bad, if she pretends to be his goody two-shoes girlfriend in front of the media.

But what happens when the game becomes real?

Grace Wentworth has come to college looking for a little space from her over protecting father, and to have a little fun. She's always been the good girl, doing whats right and never getting into trouble. College is her chance to branch out and get a little wild. She gets that opportunity when Hot, playboy hockey star, Bennett James comes into her life, asking for her help. She'll help him clean up his image, and he'll help her, let her hair down.

Bennett James, is the bad boy hockey star, that is in desperate need of a image makeover. If he wants his dream of playing professional hockey to last, he'll have to cool down his party, and womanizing ways. He gets the perfect idea, when he meets the beautiful, put together, Grace Wentworth. She could help him look good in the media, and in return he'll show her how to be a little bad.

Neither one could have predicted what would come out of their arrangement, their friendship. And they'll have to face doubt from all sides to make whats happening between them last. Bennett has a lot riding on this arrangement, but he's afraid his feelings for Grace will complicate things even more. And Grace is worried that she'll get to lost in her feelings for Bennett and get hurt. Lies, rumors, doubt, they have a lot going against them. But their friendship, their growing feelings, and their trust in each other will help guide them through it all.

Another great book in this series. Grace and Bennett where so fun to read about. They were funny and witty. Their banter was the best. Total opposites, but so great together. I like when Bennett was helping Grace be bad, it reminded me when Trace would help Olivia with her list in Finding Olivia. (Trace and Olivia who are Grace's parents) We get to see old characters we love and meet some pretty cool new ones.

Romance, laughs, friends, family. Being a little wild, lies, second chances, and finding love. All that and more make The Game That Breaks Us a book you have got to read.

I really hope we get more in this series!
