I’d
totally become a yes girl where hot guy, dad to mini hot guy, Jackson Steele
was concerned.
So
that brings me to now, turning off my ignition and willing my body to move from
the safety of my driver’s seat and up to his front door.
It’s
okay though. I’ve come prepared. I’d written a list of things not to do when I
arrived at the house on a yellow Post-it note.
1. Don’t hyperventilate
2. Don’t sweat
3. Don’t touch him
4. Don’t say the word “penis” or any of
its synonyms or any parts of the male anatomy in general
5. Don’t drool
Putting
force behind the fist I’d raised to knock on the door I immediately begin to
fall forward as the offending panel of wood swings inward and I face plant
directly into a hard male chest.
Rats! There goes rule number three and
quickly too.
Mmm. But he sure smells nice.
“Easy,
babe,” his voice is a deep manly chuckle, large hands settling on my waist.
I
feel that “babe,” that chuckle and that contact in all the right places, even a
tingle or two in some wrong ones if I’m being honest.
Considering
I’m relatively close to the brink of insanity this morning, it isn’t all that
surprising that in that second, instead of pulling away, I take the opportunity
to tilt my head back and look at him, really look at him, for the second time
since we’d met.

She's had a difficult past, and she's dealt with a lot of pain. Teaching her first graders and her brother Colt, make her feel happy and safe. She's a nurturer, she loves to take care of the ones she cares about. But she feels she's missing something. Her need for order is interrupted when a exceptional child and his cocky, handsome father enter her life. With this surprising arrival, Kennedy will have to learn how to let go a little and embrace some chaos. She hope's shes strong enough to let these two special guys into life and into her heart.
Jackson Steele fights a battle every day, to stay out of the dark. His mind controls him. But recently he's felt like he's in a good place. Work, his friends and family, all help him feel grounded. But with the arrival of a child he had on idea he had, his friends and family fear him slipping back into the dark, but that is far from what happens. With the arrival of Ryker, Jackson couldn't feel more right. He will do whatever it takes to know, love, and protect his son. When Jackson meets his son's teacher he feels like a another part of his life is clicking into place, and he cant wait to break Kennedy out of her bubble and bring some light into her life.
Kennedy, oh sweet Kennedy. Jackson's Bubble Girl. I loved her. She's such a compassionate and loving women. Her ability to pick herself up and hold up the ones she loves is beautiful. She's vulnerable and guarded, but blossoms with the love of Jackson, Ryker and Colt. Her instant love for the Steele guys and how protective of them she is, is beautiful to read.
Jackson Steele. Swoon City indeed. Oh my, was Jackson one sexy, scruffy, loving man. But he's not just a Swoon worthy guy, he's a man who fights to not loose his way. Jackson deals with a mental illness, it can overtake him at any moment and then he's lost. With all his doubts and his worries, manages to bring happiness, laughs and love to Ryker and Kennedy. You will feel so much for this character, I know I did.
The Love that Kennedy & Jackson share is a epic one. It's fast, real, deep. The connection between them is beautiful. They push each one another to be better and stronger, and hold each other when the worries surface. I just love these two. Jackson, Kennedy and Ryker, this little family will steal your heart.
Each time I read this series I fall more in love with these characters. Anne Jolin can't write something that I wont read. She brings so much beauty into her writing. We are given characters that feel so real. The laughs, pain, love. The romance, tears, and sexiness. You feel it all, through every chapter. This group of friends, this family, will entice you again and again to come back and dive into their world.
