(Possible Spoilers)

Ella Thomas has just moved into her very own place, its just her and her beloved piano in her little studio apartment. She's looking forward to spending all her time perfecting her craft, in order to win a very big competition and make a name for herself. She doesn't have time for much, she prefers things simple and plain. That is, until she has a encounter with the tall, scruffy, ripped t-shirt, sexy chef in the upstairs apartment. Jake Matson, with his charming smile, cocky attitude, and brownies, interrupts Ella's carefully laid plans and starts to liven up her life.

Jake Matson, the new head chef at Grassfed, is ready to show, with the help of his best friend Dakota, his boss and all of San Francisco what a damn good chef he is. He has a dream of owning his own restaurant some day soon, and running the kitchen at Grassfed is a step in the right direction. With long days at work, having time for romance isn't very realistic. But when he lays eyes on his gorgeous downstairs neighbor, with her dark clothes & a secret love for beautiful lingerie. This pianist that disturbers his sleep with her playing, suddenly having time for romance doesn't seem all that hard.

Play Me was a sweet, sexy, and fun book to dive into. Jake & Ella are both great characters. Total opposites in most ways, Ella who prefers plain foods and no color, routine and simplicity. Jake, with his ripped shirts, bed head, and love for food. But both share a huge passion for what they do and their dreams.

I liked seeing Ella's character grow in this story. She starts to appreciation things in life, like food, added color to her wardrobe and fun. She opens herself up a lot with the help of Jake. And comes to understand that her dreams and happiness are for her. She's a sweet and charming character. Ella helps Jake see he has more potential than he ever thought and that sometimes, simple is good. Jake is a wonderful book boyfriend for everyone to swoon over. A sexy tattooed chef, with a love for brownies. Yes please. ;)

All together this was a fantastic, fast read. Katie McCoy is definitely a author to watch.
