**BOOK REVIEW** Full Measures (A Flight & Glory Novel #1) by Rebecca Yarros

About the book:

A new adult novel from Entangled's Embrace imprint...

Three knocks can change everything…

"She knew. That’s why Mom hadn’t opened the door. She knew he was dead."

Twenty years as an army brat and Ember Howard knew, too. The soldiers at the door meant her dad was never coming home. What she didn’t know was how she would find the strength to single handily care for her crumbling family when her mom falls apart.

Then Josh Walker enters her life. Hockey star, her new next-door neighbor, and not to mention the most delicious hands that insist on saving her over and over again. He has a way of erasing the pain with a single look, a single touch. As much as she wants to turn off her feelings and endure the heartache on her own, she can’t deny their intense attraction.

Until Josh’s secret shatters their world. And Ember must decide if he’s worth the risk that comes with loving a man who could strip her bare.

~My Review~
5 Stars
(Possible Spoilers)

This story catches you from the first page and just sucks you right in! It's full of love and family and heartache. It will defintely make you shed a tear or two.

With a  knock on December Howard's door, her life is about to change. Soldiers letting her and her family know that their dad is never coming home. Ember is left to pick up the pieces of a life that just got shattered into a million bits. Her mom is a wreak, she has stopped talking, and locks herself in her room. Her sister April is coping in her own way, which is partying and getting lost in guys. Her little brother Gus is trying to hold on, he's young and confused. Luckily he has hockey, and his hockey coach, Josh Walker. Ember's Tattooed, long hair, motorcycle riding, hockey playing, bad boy crush from high school. She never thought he noticed her. But she was wrong. He saw her, "this beautiful girl" around school. But he's changed some since she last saw him, he's become more of a "all-american, hockey player." Still tattooed and super sexy though!

From the moment Ember & Josh run into each other, he's there to help. I really loved Ember through out this whole story. She has suffered such a great lost, and has a lot of stuff thrown at her at once. But stays strong through it all. Ember really steps up for the ones she loves. And along the way she has Josh, he's by her side through it all. He wants to be whatever she needs him to be. And oh man do they have quite a few sexy times together! (Fans self)

But he's hiding something from her. Something that may end up keeping them apart. I have to say Ember & Josh's Love story is one of my favorites. I can't wait to read where the author takes these two in their journey.

Full Measures deals with a lot of things, like loss and heartache, but it also has family, love, friends, and a great romance. It really shows you how strong family and friends can be when faced with loss. It also shows what people with friends or family in the army go through. Rebecca Yarros did an amazing job telling this story.

About the author:

Rebecca Yarros is a hopeless romantic and lover of all things chocolate, coffee, and Paleo. In addition to being a mom, military wife, and blogger, she can never choose between Young Adult and New Adult fiction, so she writes both. She's a graduate of Troy University, where she studied European history and English, but still holds out hope for an acceptance letter to Hogwarts. Her blog, The Only Girl Among Boys, has been voted the Top Military Mom Blog the last two years, and celebrates the complex issues surrounding the military life she adores.

When she's not writing, she's tying on hockey skates for her kids, or sneaking in some guitar time. She is madly in love with her army-aviator husband of eleven years, and they're currently stationed in Upstate NY with their gaggle of rambunctious kiddos and snoring English Bulldog, but she would always rather be home in Colorado.
